Stop using Facebook to disseminate information. That’s the easiest way for the police and intelligence services to compile a list of people to place under electronic surveillance.

Related: Stop using Twitter, even though it’s crazy easy to communicate with.

Use encrypted email to your smartphones or apps that encrypt text messages. However, some caveats: the federal government can track your movements and communications at any time using the cellular network/ISPs itself. At the very minimum, use a VPN service to create some time between the communications and the authorities finding out the content of the message.

“Burner phones” don’t exist in Canada. Stop watching The Wire. Use it, and the authorities in charge of signals interception will have your identity and your conversation in minutes, if not sooner. Have a lawyer educate you on the finer points of this, but if you’ve been using one (or more), physically destroy and discard of them immediately.

Skype/Facebook Chat is as insecure as using your own mobile phone.

A few people (myself included) are working on ad-hoc, highly-encrypted networks to use on cheap phones to communicate with. If the worst happens, you can destroy it and the contents won’t show anything, because of the design of the system. It’s crazy easy — the hard part is getting the mass group to use them. Same with encrypted email, the more people using it, the more difficult it is to get vital information.

If you’ve put your name out there in public at all in relation to this, you are under surveillance. The government has the power to do this.

If a cop or intel officer is purposely not taking part in the protests due to their own personal convictions, support them to the fullest and show your appreciation.

Don’t start any violent acts. Cameras from both sides will be on you at all times. Take the high moral ground. We respect democracy (unlike the government) and respect the laws that are just and sound.

If any guides or instructions are printed in only one language, and if you have the time to translate the information into French or English, please do so. As we all know, this isn’t about language debates or dividing the two cultural communities — the government and media would just fucking love it if it came to that. If there’s no translation, use Google Translate.

Show the government (federal and provincial) that you care about this. Flood the systems, their websites (but not maliciously), their phones, their emails, etc. If you can’t be there, protest from home.

Finally, get the word out to students from other provinces. This will happen to them too eventually, and they need to be prepared, and shows of solidarity are always welcome. This isn’t about Quebec — this is about Canada. Like it or not, we’re all Canadians, and these tactics are straight out of the federal government playbook. We all need to be united.

There are people listening in on the police and intelligence plans and they have plans to disseminate that information to protect your civil rights. Keep your ear to the ground, and stand up for your beliefs, peacefully.

This is just a starter, but more, detailed instructions will follow. Considering the time this is being posted, if someone can translate this into French and also share it en masse, it would be appreciated. Reblog, retweet, etc, SVP.

Robocalls Update (Major/Exclusive)

As I’ve alluded to in the past few months, the Robocalls investigation is about to spread from the federal Conservative Party to the Ontario Progressive Conservatives — specifically actions taken during the last provincial election. Same M.O., same companies, same people involved at the top, you can guess who’s involved at the provincial level.

Time for Printemps érable to spread to Ontario, I think.

If you’re reading media reports that they’re still under investigation, those are stories planted by the Conservative Party. (Haven’t established if the journalists involved are willing players or useful idiots.) Both have spoken to me at great length and at great personal risk to themselves (Adam Carroll does have a public blog, which you should follow for his side of the story).

Basically, from the information I’ve gathered — hard evidence — they’re being crucified by the government. Mr. Carroll is an upstanding public servant who made a wrong choice - who amongst us hasn’t? And his case and personal life are being turned upside down by a government with a personal vendetta. Yes, he made a childish mistake - hell, I have on many occasions - but the absurdity of him being pulled in front of Parliament is more egregious.

“Pierre Poutine” is a wild goosechase and nothing more than media sensationalism. His part in the scandal is minimal at best, and most facts reported have been categorically wrong. Not that I’m sticking up for his actions, or those of RackNine, but it’s minuscule compared to the real players. I know of one prominent journalist who has been on his tail the past few days, but he’s chasing a dead end.

The other person involved (whom I won’t mention due to an anonymity agreement we negotiated due to his political persecution and the evidence I’ve seen) is completely innocent. The Conservative Party would like you to believe that he’s the lone guilty party, and has produced “affidavits” from several of his former coworkers to “prove” his guilt. They don’t add up. The events that took place don’t coincide with the information in the affidavits. In fact, in light of the detailed timeline of events and operations of the Conservative Party, it is IMPOSSIBLE for him to be even remotely involved. They’re going to try to destroy him in the media and in the courts, which to his credit he’s fully prepared to fight back with every ounce of energy he has. I’m a natural skeptic, but I believe him (mostly because of the evidence I’ve seen from the Conservative HQ). He wasn’t responsible, period. Party members, much much higher up orchestrated the illegal voter suppression and diversion on and before Election Day. I have those emails and communications. I know those names. I have the proof. Last chance to come clean.

If Elections Canada issues their report and fingers these men for offences they didn’t commit, I have the evidence to prove them innocent. My worry is that the RCMP under the control of a certain junior minister of the Crown has been obstructing this from the beginning. Why? The election results. The money involved for his campaign backers. And he’s sort of a terrible human being with a complete lack of ethics.

We’ll see what EC comes up with. Then we’ll find out the truth. Once again, last chance for the government to come clean and start acting like adults. Or I start naming names in the party executive, along with the proof, and wait for the police to take the proper action.

Reading the PMO’s email traffic reveals thoughts on moving federal forces into Quebec to...

Reading the PMO’s email traffic reveals thoughts on moving federal forces into Quebec to preserve order, much like in the early 70s. The debate lies on losing the remaining Conservative support in the few areas it exists — they’ve all but given up on preserving federalism. Seriously guys, I can still read your email? Can’t you fix this yet?

Thinking about livestreaming police communications online for protesters’ safety. Also in the works, an ad-hoc private network for communication between protesters and to media.

I have full solidarity with my compatriots in Quebec. If you don’t realise what’s going on, please please please read up on it, and the history of political oppression in Quebec. People want change, and it won’t come from Quebec City or Ottawa, nor necessarily from the old political/constitutional arguments you may be thinking of. It’s about fairness, and dignity, and civil rights. Their fight is exactly the same as other workers in Canada and voters that feel cheated from the 2011 elections. Support them, even if you don’t entirely agree with them. We’re all together in this. The English media is doing an appalling job of reporting on this, so check out the French media and run it through Google Translate if you need. There has to be a compromise that works for all parties involved, not draconian legislation reminiscent of the Duplessis era. No Grande Noirceur.

I protest.

Jon Lajoie : Song for the Students

Jon Lajoie : Song for the Students

An open letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
I have more, very specific information to release. Speak now or forever hold your guilt.

Everything is under control / Tout est sous contrôle

Sorry for the lack of updates the past week, I’ve been on the road, I’ve been writing, but those are excuses for not getting information out, and I find them as lame as you do. I recognize that by putting this off each day I’m letting several of you down and I’m letting myself down too. But I made some promises to a literary agent (to help get this published as widely as possible) and to a former MP (to get the government opposition to wake up and back this). So far, I haven’t heard from either parties, a message that I’m increasingly reading that I’m on my own. I suppose if I don’t hear from them tomorrow (Monday), I can start releasing the information in pieces, pretty much as I get them put together and written. More on that when I find out for certain.

Loi 78. You may or may not have heard of it, but if you’re reading this, I’m betting you have. Due to my expertise in certain areas, I’ve been asked to contribute in some way. Believe me, I want to. I’d love to be on the streets taking my truncheon beatings like the foot soldier I’ve been (see: Quebec City Summit, Iraq War protests, GOP conventions). But I’m down south…the most direct thing I could do is protest outside of the Canadian Embassy, a latter-day Pierre Vallières. Several people have asked for help in establishing secure communications for protestors to disseminate information to each other and to the worldwide audience. This is easy to do, and I’m willing. I’ve also been monitoring SPVM/SQ/RCMP/CSIS/CSE communications traffic, because as I’ve said many times, Canadian defensive SIGINT doesn’t exist. I see it as a public safety issue, especially when journalists and innocent bystanders are being pepper sprayed and arrested. I see this law just as heavy-handed as the War Measures Act, if not more so (and I completed two theses on that very subject). There are arguments protestors aren’t making that they should be, to the rest of Canada. There are also valid points the government isn’t making to the protestors, as well as to the rest of Canada. Think of the communications monitoring like this: the government is keeping a broad list of activists and undesirables under surveillance with their technology (supposed to be used for national security). They also use these networks to communicate with each other and plan their counter measures. All of this is protected by scrambling the information and locking it with a key. Through enough computing power, I’ve cracked the key and it’s only a matter of time before the scrambled communications can be read like a page out of the Globe and Mail.

I have this information and process under lock and key. But I see my friends and colleagues on the street being injured, arrested, and targeted because of their beliefs. That doesn’t make me want to hold onto this information, it makes me want to use it to help my friends. Unfortunately in this mess is a ton of legitimate Government of Canada communications and information that has nothing to do with any of this, and foreign countries would love to get their hands on this. Just as an example, a flaw in the way the Conservative Party’s private network was setup allowed me to view thousands of extremely private files on Canadian citizens and businesses. This flaw hasn’t been fixed. To my knowledge, they aren’t even aware of it, or I still wouldn’t be able to read it. If a minister sends a confidential message to another member of government, I can see it. If someone from CSIS is working with their counterparts at RCMP and/or SQ/SPVM, I can view the file. Frankly, the information is illuminating as to how this government works. (@parl.gc.ca is one of the networks under my view; so is Foreign Affairs.) Out in the open, it would probably be less so, depending on the audience.

Anonymous can take down a certain website for a few hours using their techniques, but it eventually goes back online. I can view what the authorities are saying and planning on just about any subject. I know who they’re spying on (not just individual citizens, but opposition MPs too) and why. And then I turn on the news and see my friends being hurt and their voices suppressed and I can do a lot about it, but I haven’t yet. It’s a dilemma. It keeps me up at night. Do I care about protecting the government and its actions and policies, or do I care about the ideals on which Canada was founded and (ostensibly) operates on? I can give those on the street the same power as those spying on them, or I can indirectly support the actions of the government, the violence in the streets that they themselves have caused.

Secure communications and privacy is relatively easy to setup. Distributing sensitive information definitely crosses the line into illegality and national security concerns; it’s indefensible, plus ou moins. That’s what I’ve been weighing the past few days — what to do. All I have to be do is asked.

As for the previous work I have ready to go, yes, this has been a distraction, but a worthy one. I wish the rest of Canada would take notice at what the Government of Quebec has been doing the past few days and realize it could happen in their provinces and cities, and to them personally. That, I cannot refuse to act on. Anything less would be unpatriotic.

So, I sit and wait to hear from the people I’m expecting to hear from, and from others that haven’t made contact with me yet. That will decide the next few days.

Internal emails from the City of Vaughan regarding missing...

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Part 4

Part 5

Internal emails from the City of Vaughan regarding missing taxpayer money, broken promises, and a few brave individuals standing up for what is right. I decided to post this email because it serves the public interest, especially when millions of dollars of taxpayer money are at stake.

There are many, many more emails and documents like this in my possession and I will not hesitate to post or publish them, personal email addresses and contact information included.

Once again, there was no investigation, and guilt was presumed in the first place.

RBC won’t confirm or deny the accounts (thus the proof we have), but we have ways around that. UBS said the accounts were false, but did not say the account were fake/forged. It is worth reminding that both banks are being heavily investigated by the United States government for massive tax fraud and lying to federal investigators.

The RCMP is acting solely on the orders of Minister Fantino - that much is clear. A veteran administrative officer is effectively running his own personal police service, carrying out personal vendettas against political enemies.

So, on orders from Minister Fantino, any investigation was ordered closed. Of course there’s still U.S. investigations going on (the U.S. won’t give Canada the F-35 with someone like Fantino on board), and Mr. Fantino’s personal police force can’t suppress investigations in foreign countries - they’re not the FBI. Just be lucky that Mr. Lorello wasn’t killed by tazer by these overzealous mounties.

Au revoir Miami!
b) Chris Crawford, a staffer who had been previously demoted and fired several times, was given a huge promotion within the Conservative Party immediately after filing his affidavit against Michael Sona. Same with Matthew McBain. There are very serious holes in this part of the story, which frankly make no sense at all to anyone familiar with the workings of Tory HQ. They also wouldn’t hold up in court, based on evidence I’ve seen.

c) RackNine isn’t the primary robocalling company. Not by a long shot.

d) But McGregor and Maher are correct in their assumptions - the connections to RackNine via the Saskatchewan proxy server were not made in Burke’s candidate headquarters. Investigators are looking at the wrong people in the wrong part of the Conservative Party.

A quick peek. I’m about 5%-8% done with the first...

A quick peek. I’m about 5%-8% done with the first section. It only says 27 pages, but currently I’m over 50, finally settling into an average of about one page every three minutes (after cleaning up documents and checking my notes).

Considering the source of these documents, if Julie Couillard was my girlfriend (PLEASE GOD PLEASE), I’d be the next Maxime Bernier!

Here’s the background. This was sent to me from one of my...

Here’s the background. This was sent to me from one of my sources, who happens to be a political rival and enemy of Minister Julian Fantino. It describes an interview turned interrogation the RCMP conducted with him yesterday. The items blurred out is the subject’s name, who has not allowed me to release his/her name in connection with this. However, this information needs to get out. Today, I received a follow-up email telling me that all three of Fantino’s enemies are having their computers, internet logs, and phone records seized - today.

The subject agreed to cooperate fully with the RCMP under the impression that this was part of an investigation into the Robocalling, and financial irregularities of the Conservative Party.

Minister Fantino made an official complaint to the RCMP to have them investigate the subject’s computer and phone records to find out the source of the documents against him [Fantino]

The subject was intimidated and the RCMP tried to get him to make a self-incriminating statement, when the subject had not broken any laws.

The Swiss and Canadian banks listed are being investigated, but not by the government as they should. The U.S. government is also investigating the Fantino matter (F-35 export laws…)

We have emails from the Ethics Commission and the Inspector General saying that, even though we presented them with undeniable evidence, they declined to investigate on multiple occasions. These were clearly political decisions, without any attempt at impartiality.

Why would cops ask an interview subject what actions by a Minister of the Crown would satisfy him and get him to shut up? That makes NO SENSE, unless they were there on behalf of the minister or the Conservative Party.

The subject wanted a full, impartial investigation into what’s been going on with all of these scandals. The RCMP expressed no interest in investigating anything.

RCMP is going after the people with documents, which includes at least two other people who also happen to be political enemies of Julian Fantino.

I also have these documents, and many more obtained through my own independent research. Fortunately I’m currently located in the United States and have them stored in secure locations (i.e. not on my computer), and I have more friends in DC than the Harper Government. So the documents can (and will) still be released. And I won’t be fucking intimidated by a corrupt political hack.

The reference to me and the emails refers to the emails from Senator Finley. Those, along with the proof the offshore accounts exist (and the actual account numbers), will be released. And the subject is right, that’s going to be really fucking embarrassing for the Conservative Party. But this is a grave of their own making.

So yeah, apparently holding politicians to account is now a crime in Canada, thanks to junior ministers of the Crown and/or the Conservative majority.

Starting work on the e-book, at least the iBooks version....

Starting work on the e-book, at least the iBooks version. (Kindle and PDF versions coming too.) Notice the beer aka fuel in the background, and the working title - catchy, eh?

Now to start importing all of those raw, unedited documents and emails.

Releasing all the documents: A Fair Compromise

Someone emailed me last night, one of many telling me to keep my spirits up, and he hit me with an idea that actually sounded pretty good. It’ll enable me to release every single document and email I’ve obtained in print form, completely bypassing the media who may filter the contents or outright distort it in their political or corporate interests. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. (Props to the guy who emailed me.)

I’m going to self-publish everything in book form. (Unless any publishers/agents would like to take on this project with me, then by all means send an email.) The majority of the content is already done - it’s a matter of putting the documents and emails into the book as they exist right now. The documents just need the appropriate context and explanation into the narrative of the scandal. Considering the vast amount of notes I’ve taken, this shouldn’t be a problem. Then I can release this book, and everyone can make their own judgements considering the evidence.

A pre-thank you to Jesse Hirsh, to told me to keep diligent notes to help create the story’s narrative.

I can write pretty quickly, and I have some upcoming down time to get this project done. The majority of the work will be getting some permissions to publish certain conversations and documents. Otherwise, this could take only a few days to a few short weeks.

I’m getting started on this today. I feel this is a solid compromise between those who want to have access to everything and read it for themselves, and for there to be a coherent narrative, along with the required research to make sure everything is entirely accurate.
