My 14-inch iBook G4 just died, leaving me with only my MacBook, which I just paid $500 in repairs for. The computers I need cost about $2000 $4000 with my educational discount. And then there’s the whole not getting paid until January thing. Sorry for being Mister Complain O’Lot, but here’s some things I’m going to try:
- Completely deplete my savings, even living on the most austere of budgets
- Tapping my 401K pretty hard and paying severe penalties, and then paying a shitload of taxes on it next spring
- I’d apply for credit, but my FICO score is lower than gas prices in the 1950’s
- Pray to God my MacBook doesn’t die or anything happen to it
- Hope that emissions light on in my car goes off tomorrow
- Sell expensive cameras that took me years of saving up to buy (like a complete Hasselblad kit) for under market prices
- Cut back or in half on my epilepsy and cancer medications and see if anything too bad happens
- No MRIs or CT scans for a few months, period. I’ll have to just deal with les consequences.
