Yesterday’s Indian feast !
( was having this girl over for Mad Men Sunday, and will be feasting with friends every Sunday from now on, I decided…)
Ok so first off: food didn’t photograph well ( there’s just no way an eggplant-yogurt dip can look appetizing, but it is! ) but everything tasted good, everyone got second and in some cases thirds.
We had : vegetable samosas ( I filled dough with carrot, peas, potatoes,cumin, cilantro and hot sauce and put them in the oven ( really too much of a wuss to deep-fry stuff in my kitchen…), baked pita with eggplant, cinnamon, caramelized red onions and yogurt puree, my famous ( seriously ) butter-masala chicken ( baked in cream and yogurt, with red peppers and a lot of my secret stash of indian spices ), and finished it off with Whipped cream pineapple-blueberry parfait, and copious drinks all around.
I think it was a nice night.
